BOOKS

As the holidays approach, family meals, trick or treating, and parties, you are sure to eat a lot. Here are several Bear books about food:

The Berenstain Bears and Too Much Junk Food

Mama Bear lays down the law when she notices that Papa and the cubs are getting too chubby. With the help of Dr. Grizzly's slide show on how the body works, the Bear family makes a healthful adjustment in their diet and fitness habits.

The Big Honey Hunt

In the very first Berenstain Bears book, an empty honey pot sends Papa Bear and Small Bear (later to be known as Brother Bear) on a quest for honey. Mama tells them to get it at the honey store, but Papa Bear, however, has other ideas. "Not at the store. Oh, no, Small Bear. If a bear is smart, If a bear knows how, He goes on a honey hunt. Watch me now!" For more on this engaging story, visit the Bear Museum.

The Berenstain Bears Cook-It! Breakfast for Mama!

Brother, Sister, and Papa Bear prepare Mama a special birthday breakfast. The event is a dazzling success--especially when Mama discovers that the young chefs have even cleaned up the kitchen! The Do-It! section includes recipes for the complete menu, including rainbow melon balls and French toast with raspberries and (what else?) honey.
